Get to the Point

Comment:
Why is the boat in the shot? It looks like an accident, if it isn't then don't cut part of it off. The horizon looks a little crooked to me too.

The Long Iron Fence
by trevytrev

Comment:
This shot is nicely done, the diagonal line formed by the fence really helps out, and the fact that I can't really see it end is good too. It kind of feels like the picture is crooked, but I realize that is probably because there is a hill on the left, but it is still hard to see this as a straight shot.

Into the blue

Into the blue

Comment:
I think this shot would have been more effective if the sky and water didn't blend right in. I realize that you probably did this on purpose from your title, but it doesn't work for me. I also wish that the people were more in focus.

Cut to length

Cut to length

Comment:
I like the dof, and the stick and ruler help lead me to the action, that is nice. I'm not sure that distance and length are synonymous though, I don't think this is a clear fit for the challenge.

In The Distance...

Comment:
This shot looks very 2d to me, yes I realize it is a picture, but the lighting and the sky make everything look very flat. There isn't really any detail to the picture, it almost looks like a drawing.

Tracks to Pilgrim's Tower

Tracks to Pilgrim's Tower
by wildiris

Comment:
The tracks seem to be leading me up the hill to that thing that is on top, but that part of the picture is very dark and not very sharp. The lines from the footprints are very well done to help direct my eyes, but when I get to the tower, I am lost.

I like the dof in this shot and the direction of her eyes with the lines of the track help lead me into looking off into the distance, nice b&w conversion.

Above the Storm

Comment:
I really like the idea here, and I realize how difficult it is to get detail out of the moon and still expose correctly for the rest of the shot, but the moon almost just looks like a spot that got onto your picture rather than something that was meant to be there, I really like the mood cast by the clouds though.

How far is it?

Comment:
I think you did great with the composition here, but I don't think it is as clever, or well thought out, as a lot of the other pictures I have been seeing.

Worship Him From Afar
by Rosacalaca

Comment:
I really like the lines formed by the stairs, this would make a good, from the ground up shot, I think, but it works for this one too. I only wish that I could make out more details of the guy at the top of the stairs, but I guess that is hard to see with a low res photo. Nicely done.
