Petals by agwrightComment: So when will you have a version of it on DCPrints, so I can give my mom a copy? :-> |

Dash of Orangeby finnurComment: Nice composition and motion capture! Dramatic. Looks almost postcardy, except for the exact subject with the orange and the splash, of course. 8. |

Spring Flowersby karmatComment: A fairly straightforward macro shot of a blossom. There's nothing that particularly excites me about it, but it's executed in a very technically-proficient way, so I have to give props for that. :-> Good color contrasts, dramatic lighting, good choice of focus. 8. |

Nature's Secondary Colorsby jodiecostonComment: A very straightforward, head-on macro shot of a blossom. There's nothing that particularly excites me about it, but it's executed in a very technically-proficient way, so I have to give props for that. :-> Would make a good mousepad or coaster, I think. |

Pincushion Flower (Scabeosa)by rmockmtComment: A very straightforward, head-on macro shot of a blossom. There's nothing that particularly excites me about it, but it's executed in a very technically-proficient way, so I have to give props for that. :-> Nice focus; slightly less extreme lighting might have helped bring out the blossom's color (though if you're shooting outdoors, I know you need to put up with what you're given, lightingwise). It's a good documentary photograph of that particular flower, or even the species, but nothing makes it particularly 'pop' for me. |

big things, little packageby ellamayComment: A very straightforward, head-on macro shot of a blossom (or, in this case, a cluster of buds). There's nothing that particularly excites me about it, but it's executed in a very technically-proficient way, so I have to give props for that. :-> Would make a good mousepad or coaster, I think. Nice tight focus, even down to defining those white granules, but there's no one thing really to look at. If one of the pinkish buds were open, the single flower might well have given it the 'pop' it needs. |

Secondary Colour Mixtureby MonaComment: A very straightforward, down-the-throat macro shot of a blossom. There's nothing that particularly excites me about it, but it's executed in a very technically-proficient way, so I have to give props for that. :-> Would make a good mousepad or coaster, I think. My eye is drawn to the central, dark cavity, which is too dark and blurry to really hold attention. |

There's Always Room for Jelloby StevePaxComment: Gorgeous crisp focus, and the lighting is just right to show the translucency. There's no real central point in the composition or center of attention, but it's pretty enough I'll 9 it anyway. :-> |

Fluid painting by christoComment: This is abstract enough I can't really tell what it is - and in past, I've sometimes found that to be a detraction, in my voting. However, this just strikes me, deep down, as so beautiful that I had to give it a 10 despite not knowing what you were photographing. :-> |
