I agree. I was expecting to see this on the front page today and am a little disappointed with DPCers for giving this a sub 6 score. Hope you'll keep your awesome out of the box creativity going in the future.

Nice concept and execution. It seems slightly oversharpened from the jaggies on the headphones. I like the overall composition with some interesting lines/curves to follow around.

Ah, just a magnificent photo. Honestly, a place like this makes me think of wind sounds. Still, with such a beautiful composition, I'll assume it's a really calm day ;)

I love the anticipatory silence this image creates. I would have been tempted to crop out the bottom smudges and perhaps use a 2x3 portrait with the pin centered. Having the green ball just off center makes it feel a bit off balance to me. The sharpness of the pin's tip is fantastic and it looks like you're really dropping it (over and over and over... :)

Good portrayal of silence. I might have experimented with blocking light on the child and putting more light on the cat, but then again, this also looks like a genuine moment that may not have permitted much opportunity for manipulating the light. I like the DOF very much.

Very appropriate subject. My first reaction was that this was a little oof, but looking at it closer I think focus is fine, but the faded nature of the stones made it feel more oof than it is to me. I wonder if it would feel less that way if the focus was on the most detailed part, that sculpted circle on the left. I'm not sure. Still, a very effective portrayal of silence.

Very interesting interpretation of silence. The texture/color of the blue cloth across the mouth clashes somewhat with the mask to my eyes. Otherwise, I love the execution.

Good silence but too much is oof for me. My eye is struggling to find a place to rest & I wonder if it would have helped to have the near obelisk or the far cross sharp. Intriguing title.
