Yes..looks like they have been silenced. I hope they lived to a ripe old age and went peacefully. Does convey a definitive sense of silence. Cropped in a little too tight for my liking. 5

Very appropriate subject. My first reaction was that this was a little oof, but looking at it closer I think focus is fine, but the faded nature of the stones made it feel more oof than it is to me. I wonder if it would feel less that way if the focus was on the most detailed part, that sculpted circle on the left. I'm not sure. Still, a very effective portrayal of silence.

A good choice of subject, and going mono was the right choice, but the "jaunty" angle isn't helping get me in the silent mood.

I like the idea, meets the challenge really well. Black and white works here, but also would have been interesting in colour with the green grass and grey stones. The angle of the photo and the crop though are a little awkward. Having this angle with the close crop on the left stone makes it look like maybe the image is not straight (however it is). Also the cropping accross the other headstones across the back. With this angle, having a couple more stones in the row might have helped, and from slightly lower that the stones behind could have remained in the image........

An excellent ieda for the challenge, and engaging composition. I can't help think that brighter, with more contrast would have made a more powerful image.
