Make that Four for Dinnerby ambakerComment: Kudos for the in flight capture. It looks like the ISO may be quite high causing some strong grain (I suppose to allow you shutter headroom to stop the wings). I'd like to get a feeder like this for my backyard. |

Regal Eagleby cryanComment: Nice isolation. The white lines are somewhat distracting to me. |

Old Cue Ballby picksterComment: Good interpretation of the challenge. I like the detail in the cue ball's wear marks and the isolation you've created, however, a different POV and possibly more variety in placement of the background balls might have made the overall composition more interesting imho. |

Bursting at the seamsby tmmac_9Comment: Cute. Very cute. The lighting is a bit harsh on the right side but I like the way you met the challenge and the face is good and sharp. Too bad the background doesn't contrast more. |

One Lump, Pleaseby EBJonesComment: Excellent shot and congratualtions on your patience as well. The 50mm/1.8 works well and if you get into this IreneM style you might consider investing in a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di which she has used for many of her great drop shots. I purchased one a while ago and fell in love with it the first time I used it. |

Irish Countiesby AliciaComment: Originally posted by undieyatch: Your images are always interesting, (and take this with a grain of salt) - not only does post cropping your image destroy any semblance of the nature of your lens.... it is unequivocally a sin in any capacity, (except in camera, also slight rotation/straighten is ok). As you can tell I like the no crop suggestion. |
I don't think the "unsinful" ratio of all photography should be dictated by camera sensor manufacturers, so I would not only take that with a grain of salt, I'd call BS.
I like the way you framed this shot with the background. The angle of the flute against the verticle lines of his body & the mic along with the background make for a nice composition. Being indoors I'm curious what settings you were working with.
ETA: thanks for adding the settings. I'm surprised there's not more motion blur at that speed with the way musicians move. Message edited by author 2008-06-01 15:22:40. |

Day 01 - Bunny!by shutterpuppyComment: So, did the bunny throw up after this shot? :P I look forward to seeing how you use this. You might get an interesting false motion blur effect with some of that Chicago traffic. |

Decaying Full Bloom - Day 24by sherpetComment: Very well captured indeed. It's nice & sharp with just enough DOF and I really love the composition. My eyes really like wandering around in this one. Thanks Sherryl. |

Girls just wanna have fun!by BarbBComment: I like the interesting angles you used in this. I hope the bandages/cast are just props, but somehow I suspect there's a real story here. |
