Into the Fireby JeffryZComment: I am enjoying how you removed everything from this image excpet the sky and birds. That elevates this to a higher artistic level and makes for an image that is easy to contemplate repeatedly. |

Winter... stage leftby Pipe_DreamComment: The muted puples, pinks, and blues of the sky and water might convey the challenge topic better without the person. Bright white jacket/vest and lighting of the ground and far side of the person make it more difficult to sit back and enjoy the natural setting for itself (realizing that many would find it uninteresting without the person). |

Oops Too Lateby togtogComment: Sorry to find the image just as uniform as the thumbnail suggested. I predict a low score from most voters. I'm just commenting, but I would deduct a point or two becaue this image doesn't convey anything about sunset or sunrise and has to depend on the title for even a remote connection. |

Yucca Skiesby BalkoComment: The spiky plants provide a stark contrast with the sky, with the simplicity making a nice graphic impact. The small leafy plant seems to break the pattern and makes me wish this could have been from a different vantage point. |

Splash Danceby ScholtenComment: Many elements of a classic seascape painting here, easy on the eyes even if not so powerful at grabbing attention. The water is captured very well. |

The Colors of Miami at Sunsetby yakatmeComment: Having so many different bright colors in the bridge and along the streets makes for a lot of competition with the sky. For me, the clash makes this harder to look at. However, the reflected tones in that expanse of water are very nice. |

Sunset trails....by renjith_varmaComment: The bright trails in the water contrast well with a dull sky, making an unexpected but artistic contribution to this challenge. |

A Lonely Wanderer by the Frozen Lakeby JimiRoseComment: The patterns across the frosty ice surface have just the color to convey a sense of cold. Subdued non-saturated sky a nice break from the more saturated competition. If that person is walking toward the camera, another capture a few seconds later might have allowed better separation from the dark background elements. |

Moeby MaryOComment: I like the compositional decision to have the dog split the background between the upright repeating pattern on our right and the open area on the left. Backlighting highlights work well on the fur, and the fill light is done just right. |

Curiosityby bruskiComment: Refreshing new way to see a girraffe. Choice of yellow fits as an echo of the hide colors. |
