Shades of Autumn by moodvilleComment: This is an exceptional photo - I love the texture and color of the background. I love the composition. Lighting, colors, DOF - all great! The only thing I'm bugged about is the wheat - but that's just a personal choice. I've pictured this in my mind without the wheat and it still looks great to me. Good choice with the framing - all around and excellent shot - I definately see a ribbon on this one! :-) |

Nightwalkby heidaComment: There are many things about this photo that set the mood tone - not just the lighting. The surroundings of your subject, his posture - he almost looks dejected, sad. The lighting really helps pull that feeling in. I do have 2 picks though - I wish the shadow weren't so prominant at the bottom of the image and it seems a little too sharp. Nice work creating an emotive feeling. :-) |

I Wish I Had A Friendby OneSweetSinComment: This is a nice photo - if it were someone I knew, I'd probably frame it. I like the desaturation and leaving just his shirt color, it really makes him stand out as the subject and I'm not looking at his surroundings as much. I am having some trouble seeing how the lighting is creating the mood tone though - the expression and posture of the boy is what is really creating that for me. Nice work. |

A Night in the Spotlightby alanfreedComment: Nice use of lighting on your subject. I like the composition. I feel some energy from this shot as if a band member is going to pop out any second now and start singing. |

Logsby MikeOComment: This is an interesting picture of your subject choice, I have spent some time studying it and I just don't see how it applies to the use of lighting to create a mood tone. I was hoping to use the title to help piece it together and that isn't helping me either... |

Early Morning Lightby dan_pendletonComment: I think this is a great image - I love the silhouette and flare from the sun - image clarity is strong - I can't find anything I don't like about it... Well done! :-) |

"It's a beautiful life"by kengurinnComment: I like your choice of shooting into the sun to create the silhouette. This use of lighting gives the impression of a great day at the beach coming to a close... your younger subject seems happy and carefree. |

R/G/Bby kostiaComment: I like your idea for this challenge. I wish I couldn't see what appears to be dividers between the glasses, althought that could have been intentional? The shot is set up well and each glass is clearly defined with it's own color. Nicely done. :-) |

Rageby BeagleboyComment: This submission could also qualify well as a nightmare. :-) A well taken shot. I like your composition and choice of light. The red really adds to the mood and feeling. Very well done! |
