Great photo... I think the only thing that I would change is maybe the perspective. Maybe bring the camera down a little closer to sidewalk level. Very good photo though, and honestly I would be very proud if it was mine....

I think the shadows are a little distracting here. The DOF helps because it helps to bring the attention to the missing finger. I actually like this photo more than I think I usually would because of the execution.
