Room For Moreby taljComment: A very daring use of negative space which doesn't quite work for me - there's no real interaction between the subject and the space and there's just so much space! I also wonder if this is a little oversharpened (the jaggies on the breadsticks are a little distracting). Good effort though. |

The Greatest Thingby AndyMac24Comment: The focus here is on the wrong slice - our eyes are drawn to the slice in the middle of the frame, but it's OOF. A pity as the composition and lighting looks strong. |

Still Life with Breadby banmornComment: I prefer my still lifes a little less formulaic but very well lit and presented. A pity a couple of grapes have been chopped off! |

The Promise of Breadby brownsmComment: Excellent monochrome. Great composition and lighting (maybe a little too dark towards the top?) but certainly one of the strongest of the challenge. |

Simply Slicedby tfarrell23Comment: Nice, simple composition and good DoF, but I anticipate you losing marks on the border. |

Mtn Goat in the Elkhornsby XukoComment: At first I wondered whether the goat was really in focus - I think it is but it really needs to pop out at us a little bit more (some USM would do the trick if applied well) and the image is a little bit lacking in contrast. It would make a terrific B&W I reckon (in fact, if you'd like me to have a play then do send me over a larger version though I can't claim to be an expert!). You've captured real energy here and the bokeh is nice too :) |

pirouetteby krnodilComment: For each of these photos I've commented on, I've loaded the photo and tried to guess the score. 9 out of 10 times I'm pretty much spot on, but here I was miles out. I just don't understand the score. The IR is subtle and the conversion superb. The DoF is done to absolute perfection. And it really is dance-like. Somehow. Wonderful shot and I'd just ignore the voters! |

Tatt Meby ingridblueComment: I really like the processing on this. I think the reasons for the low-ish score have been pretty much covered, but well done for submitting something a little different. |
