Kristinby lovethelightComment: I like the poignant quiet energy radiating between camera and model, the moment the shutter cleared: a delicate charge.

Breathe Inby halopesComment: "Exhale" would make better zen(se).
Other than this, everything is perfect. |

Waiting for youby CuttoothComment: I was reading the comments on the image. The subject, of course, is not the person holding the pipe. It's fear. And no, you didn't fail to communicate this via the image. Some viewers failed to consider the obvious. |

High in the Skyby dahvedComment: Yes, the vignette's a little one-sided.
Rotated 90º ccw, boom!, the balance is back!
I like it the way it is. The cloud, especially, is so wonderful-crazy vs. the austere minimalism of the partial arch, it makes me restless looking at it.
That's worth more to me than a couple of dark corners.

Even Cowgirls Get the Bluesby JutildaComment: It's hard to find a face like this, even harder to conjure a matching expression.
You should win your niece's heart to pose -or not, if it comes natural still- for a session.
What strikes me most about this shot, is how exquisitely and appropriately all the ingredients (subject, expression, treatment) have combined its look. Message edited by author 2009-06-14 12:45:33. |

Dancing In The Shadows Of The Treesby skasubaComment: Energy/Range/Story: 5/7/6
Composition/perspective/manner:7/6/6
Aesthetics/Technical: 4/3

Remarks: Despite the toned-down brightness/contrast, highlight details are lost in the white shirt. On the other hand, the arboreal silhouette drawn here works such wonderful magic both aesthetically and compositionally, I cannot help but imagine the dancers as proxy via the shadows they throw. Their, perhaps, unavoidable inclusion (as sources for their shadows) strikes me as nearly redundant in this context.
Given the interest and quality of competing entries in this challenge, there can be no contest, IMO. It is and remains, in my view, the only photograph to consider. |

Graftonby mwwbackComment: As if Jack N., the Joker (to her right), had some design on her or him or them...
Nice blend of genres, too, with a pose inside the candid. |

Togetherby tinky2Comment: Lovely shot, beautiful composition, meticulously apt processing. The contrast between textures could not be better. |
