Spinning Wheelby buzzrockComment: *Critique Club*
General: Colours are subtle which works to generate a mood for this image.
Composition: For the most part the composition works here, axle in top third. Though it might be a bit tightly cropped on the bottom and a bit loose on the left. There's also an interesting figure 8 pattern in the center of the wheel. This might make a cool image on its own.
Also, good choice of background. It looks like pavement even though you mention that it's black posterboard. It makes the wheel stand out, drawing the viewer into the image.
Exposure: Exposure seems bang on. The white wall of the tire is not blown out while the darker areas have just enough detail. The spokes are just visible enough to give the sense of motion.
Impact: Even though the wheel depicts motion perfectly, the image seems to be a little static. I wonder if the image would have more impact if it were more tightly cropped on the left but less on the bottom?
Congratulations on achieving the goal you set for yourself with this image and remember that in the long run, the opinion that counts the most is your own. Keep shooting.

Racing through NYC in a Yellow Taxi Cabby RiderGalComment: The zoom effect can create very interesting images. In this case it gives the required sense of speed. What could possibly give more impact is having the front of the cab in focus. |

C the velocity of lightby KaliComment: Interesting abstract. Composition seems to work with the thicker lines of light in the lower third. There are some hotspots. You may have been able to deal with this by stopping down (closing the aperture - larger number or speeding up the shutter) 1/3 or 1/2 a stop. |

The Tortoiseby christeyComment: This is definitely an illusion. Tortoises don't move that fast. Well captured. A little more space in front of him/her and a more natural background might help with impact. |

Travelin' 75by CLarson557Comment: Good sensation of speed is implied by this image. The white line in the top right is distracting. Did you try shots with more of the car and no white line? |

The SPLASH!by PHOTOCHlXComment: Exposure on the water seems ok. There are just a couple of hot spots. The composition doesn't work for me, I get no sense of speed. |

149mphby tomlewis1980Comment: Interesting take on the challenge. The ball gives the impression of speed that always shows up in a tennis match. Did you try different angles (to show the racket more) or with the racket moving as well? This might have improved the impact for this image.
Exposure is bang on. |

113 Degrees Doesn't Slow Him Downby lynnesiteComment: Excellent attempt at capturing a difficult subject. For this challenge a slower shutter speed would give more of a sense of motion and speed. In this image only the left (from the dog's perspective) front paw is blurred. Also, more space on the right for the dog to move into would give the image more impact. |
