Mad Scientistby krytaComment: Nice work on a top 10 and a great PB. I love this. There's something about the angle of her goggles against the upright "test tube" that I really like. Well done. |

Glad to see I can still pick out a ribbon :-) This was my favourite of the whole challenge. Great work Mr Maisano, you're on sparkling form at the moment! (no pun intended)
This would look great with a large print IMO. 640 pixels just doesn't do it justice.

Why the caged bird sings...by egambleComment: I didn't get to vote on this in the challenge but would have given it at least a 7 I would have thought. It's very highly underrated in my opinion, particularly as you've combined high contrast in tones with contrast in theme between freedom/imprisonment. I suspect most voters didn't pick up on that theme, hence your score.
I'm certainly inclined to agree with some of your other commenters regarding the focus, although I think the angle is fine as it is. I also like that there's a lot of black in the photo too, it conveys the darkness of mood one might have if one were imprisoned.
Other than that - take heart - you've done pretty well on your first entry, even though the score doesn't reflect that. You've obviously got the eye and creativity to do well in later challenges. Good luck! Message edited by author 2008-06-18 02:30:41. |

Daily Crime Scene...by F-StopBluesComment: I hear ya. It's worth noting that petrol in the UK is somewhere round the equivalent of $10 a gallon (about two thirds of which goes the taxman). Of course, by the time voting finishes in this challenge it'll be nearly $20. |

Self Defenseby zackdezonComment: This for some reason remonds me of the opening sequence of Scream. No idea why, as nothing like this happens in that film. A bit too grainy for me. |

The power plant caseby ELLIPSComment: I'm lost - what's the crime here? It might be that I can't determine what's in your shadow's hands, and it's confusing me. |

No Remorse by nutzitoComment: The details on your criminal's face look a bit off to me, can't put my finger on why. might be the way you PP'ed it.
You've conveyed a great mood with this shot. |

Murdered in the Dark "1951"by swordandsigilComment: I'm puzzled. I presume the year is significant, hence the speech marks, but I don't know why.
I think your shot could benefit from a bit more contrast. |
