Day 8: Mailboxesby RebeccaComment: This is a great shot. Nice patterns and textures. Abstract and mundane at the same time. I particularly like the vertical "brushed metal" texture on the doors.
Did you consider correcting the perspective so everything would be parallel? It's off by just a skosh, which is distracting to me.
Congrats on the final! I just finished my last one. Did it go well? Meh. Do I care? Nope. |

Fishingby ElaineComment: This is really nice, great framing. I agree about the contrast thing (same problem my water pic from today suffered from)... I also think it might help to move down towards the water a bit more, so you could get some more sky in the background, OR crop out the opposite shore and sky entirely, so the water just becomes negative space, and implies distance. |

Could you hurry up, Louise?by AliciaComment: Yeah, I do like this one more. It's got a great feel, a little bit of a narrative, and great light from that window. And I adore that shirt!
The flowers in the front left are a distraction; if they could be cloned out or just burned in a bit I think it would improve. |

Day 10 - Ev half faced portrait number 2by jonfrommkComment: Not unlike the old musicians joke - "should we play it fast, or half-fast?"
This is a really nice shot, and I like the half-faced part of it. I think I'd like it more if the body of the cow were alligned with the head, so the body didn't dominate the frame quite so much. A little less DOF might be nice too, but you're already at f/3.5 so may not be much option there. |

eight/thirtyby UNCLEBROComment: Heh. I like it. Great gradient in the sky, nice tonal range in the binoculars. It's easy to personify... I feel like it's sad. |

Day 09by darnokComment: This is a nice shot, but for me it lacks a subject... if, as you say, the background were less focused the tree would stand out more as a subject.
I would try a portrait crop, too, since your subject is more vertical than horizontal, or if not a crop to accentuate the "frame" created by the trunk and the branch. |

8by mia67Comment: This is really a lovely shot. The bokeh is beautiful, and I like how the light patch behind frames the wing a bit. Nice crisp detail in the body; the proboscus is great and perfectly defined. Good work... |

Bikeby electinaComment: They sure hate the wonky horizons around here... ;)
Don't sweat it. It's a great picture, and, in my opinion, deserved to do better. |

symmetry underwaterby saradownendComment: This is an interesting attempt, but you need to fix the colors. Also it's too small - use all the pixels you're allowed! |
