00001CFL_0623.jpgby ericwooComment: What comes to mind as I view this shot is the strength of the composition - the tonal quality and the DOF - this could be a text book example of what to do right. The picture to me tells this story - a couple of old friends talking about times gone by - but you know what - to me the central subject is the fountain, even though it is OOF, it is beautiful. Great job. Next time come up with a title will ya? Grin.
edited to fix typo - thank you tnun :)Message edited by author 2008-10-04 13:58:23. |

The performerby MaggyeComment: NIce lighting on this photo .. like the DOF, adds to the isolation of the character from the b/g - as far as learning how to process b&w, it really depends on what look you are going for and what software you are using - check out the forums as there are some great tutorials there ... I am no expert but would also be willing to share the little I know. |

Nighthawkby citymarsComment: A great reference to the painting - it fits - the guy looks to be praying to the altar of his God - the colors are phenomenal - the glow on the chairs, the lettering in the sign, the texture in his coat, it looks like a painting.. If this was a challenge I can't believe you wouldn't end up in the top three. |

Morning Shaveby pawdrixComment: The poor guy is going to have one heck of a rash from a dry shave - what a great shot to come up on .. like the surroundings too - it all fits. |

Red, White, and Blueby GermaineComment: The colors in your photos pop out and the shadows are real points of interest.. I like that the arrow is going in the opposite direction of the bike... is it a one way street? (LOL) - one thing that I did notice that you might want to work on is the post processing is noticable around the wheels of the bike and the lower frame.. kind of a halo - but a real nice shot. |

Alone In A Crowdby bvyComment: This shot is what street candids are all about in my personal opinion ... gritty, real - yep, the guy is removing an irritant just sitting on his perch ... like the angle - I am going to try shooting from the hip. |

Lovebirdsby GermaineComment: I really enjoy the colors in this shot... the way the wall of the building blends into the man's shirt seems to add to the sense of motion - as if he is popping in from the future... the shadows are interesting and I think the color of the curb is an excellent accent. |

que pasa;by tnunComment: I like this shot more because she is alone.. her hands brought up to her face signalling she is not fully at ease... maybe a first time meeting? SUggests different senarios - strong photo, one I enjoy. |

Fast Responseby GermaineComment: Hey I like this - great looking car indeed ... this guy has fun with his job - nice work getting the b/g motion - treating this to B&W makes it really pop. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment: I like it when people just claim part of outside as their own .. he seems to have brought something to sit on - took his shoes off and is just ignoring the world. The slight smile on his face tells me he might just know you were there.. so maybe you could have just gone for it, crunched down and fired off a few... grin ... but I probably wouldn't have. |
