Stone Arch Bridgeby GatorguyComment: This would be an awesome shot at a different time of day. The mid-day light is way too harsh. Excellent composition, and I like the subject. Try reshooting at sunset. |

A Fixer-Upper Opportunityby joebokComment: There are several things going on with this image. First off, it's not fitting into a classical concept of architectue. Second, there's a great deal of visual clutter. Between the trees in the back, powerlines, and objects in the garage- there's nothing for my eyes to settle on. Third, the light is very flat- typical of winter photography. Ways to correct that include shooting at sunries or sunset. These components together give the image a "snapshot" feel. Some suggestions for improvement would be: get closer- maybe look up at a corner and wall element? The key is trying to control the shot as much as you can. That control makes the difference between a snapshot and a more interesting composition. Very solid effort though! |

Architecturesby jjbeguinComment: I love the shadows on the building, but the tree branches make the shot a bit busy. |

Reachingby jin_tonicComment: This is an awesome building. One of my new favorites in DC. The only major issue with this shot is the light. Way too flat to get the building to pop. It's probably worth getting up before sunrise or sunset to see if you can get better color. |

Pagodaby faidoiComment: I like the subject choice here. My chief problem is that the image seems a bit flat. By that I mean everything kind of blends into itself. I'm still struggling myself with creating more dynamic range in my black and white images- so I'm not sure what suggestions I can make that will help. It might be work trying it out with some different post processing options (duotone maybe). |

Study Hallby alanfreedComment: I think this shot might benifit from a bit more symmetry in the composition. I like the sense of scale. Very cool studyhall. :) |

Pueblo Styleby SammieComment: Nice subject choice. My major problem with the shot is the light. Winter produces harsh light to begin with. At altitude, that light is even harder. I'd try shooting this just pre-sunrise, or sunset. That will give you a better quality of light. 6 |

Shades of San Francisco by blancericComment: Interesting selective desat here. I actually like it. Nice strong color contrast, and I think it makes the image more interesting. Kinda gets me thinking of foggy SanFran. I also like the angle on the bridge. This isn't your typical bridge shot. 9 |
