I actually disagree on the the good light comment. I think this is very average, middle of the day light. That kind of light is very flat, and doesn't add anything to an image. For fun, go back tonight about 30 minutes before sunset, and start shooting one image every minute until 15 minutes after sunset. See if you notice a change in the dynamic quality of the image. I think different light could easilly pop this shot up several places.

This is just cool. I love the waves breaking behind the bird. YOu also have a great angle on the shot. Nice and low, it really makes you feel part of the action. I also like the hint of a reflection on the sand. 9

Ah yes, the forboding skys of the American West. :) There's a lot of history in Yuma. I don't think most people know about that. By accident or design you've captured the spirit of that place. Dark, forboding, and with a hint of a promise of freedom. Makes me miss Colorado even more. 9

This is one of those wow moments. Right time, right place, and a little bit of prep work. The color of the water really makes the colors of the beak stand out. Nicely cropped. I wish I had been there. :) 8

a great storytelling portrait here. You can feel the focus and intensity. I'd move the bottle by her elbow and the whatever it is you can see through her hair. Both items distract a bit. 7

Stunning. Just...wow. This is awesome. The dark water exploding into white falls and foam. I never thought you could get this kind of shot at the falls. It's mystical and etherial. I love it. 10
