This is stunning. Particularly with the contrast that the black and white delivers. It almost has a surreal sense to it. Brilliant!!!

I love this. Some people don't care for B&W, but I bet this could convert them. Angles, lighting, textures, it's all extremely good.

Steve, this is an awesome, thought-provoking photograph, very well composed and post-processed.

Didn't AZ become a state in 1912?

Steve - this is just stupendous. I can't say anything that doesn't sound trite! Perfect in every way. The sky, the shadows and light, the composition! Man, this is awesome.

Awesome! I do wanna see the original though to see how much was done in post processing. I'm sure it's quite a lot. Is this a Heida? Or a jjbequin? I'm not sure but it looks like it could be one of those two. ;-)

want to brush it off as a computer game maze, but can't...may be it's the cracks on the floor or sky watching over emptiness... not sure if I love it or hate it...(5 minutes later)OK, I love it,... glad the gates are open...

Awesome processing on what could have been a not quite as awesome shot in color. Great choices. 9.

Striking image, but the sky looks too selectively edited (whether it is or not) for my taste - just my opinion though. Apart from that, good detail.

Great composition and subject matter. Lighting and detail are good, rich in tones and good use of splitting the shot with the diagonals. Very surrealistic.

Ah yes, the forboding skys of the American West. :) There's a lot of history in Yuma. I don't think most people know about that. By accident or design you've captured the spirit of that place. Dark, forboding, and with a hint of a promise of freedom. Makes me miss Colorado even more. 9

this just feels weird, like something from a dream. has the same feeling as the death sequence in gladiator. as i can't offer anything else, i'll just sit and enjoy this a bit. good luck with the challenge, especially after surviving a dq request!

Very good almost surrealistic. The lighting is perfect and the sky accents the ominous nature of the scene. The leading lines and the open door allow the viewer to imagine being a prisoner and either being let free or being led to the gallows! Very good

I like the b&w on the walls and the converging lines but I'm not crazy for the sky and the loss of detail in the walkway.
