Actually I think the original image is really interesting! I do like the treatment a lot, the water and grunge work wonderfully! Not sure I'm too fond of the big blue blotch in the sky, seems to try to draw my attention away from the wonderful beach scene :-)

I actually like how the blending modes you chose removed the color from Joyah (and that is one great portrait, by the way!!). Also it is cool how those blending modes make it look as if her arms are outside of the frame. I wouldn't mind seeing the blue blotches removed from her face, but I do like the blotches on her shirt and I like the lined texture on her face. This looks great!!

What a cutie! You really captured a moment of joy and exuberance, really wonderful! It is a cool overlay; again it reminds me of the 1960's, when they would project shapes and images on a huge screen while people danced in front of it... cool!!! Oh, and just now read Jutilda's comment; guess we are from the same era :-)
