Mother’s Dayby thelselComment: This is well done. I like the grain, I like the sun-flares, and the splash of color. Nice shot. |

Anybody in There?by mariomelComment: This shot is absolutely fantastic. The toning is perfect, the composition is perfect, and I love the lighting/shadows. It would be a crime to give it less than a 10, and I hope I see a ribbon on this one. At any rate, it's gonna be in my favorites as soon as the challenge ends - this is in my top 2 favorite DPC shots of all time. Congratulations on a fantastic capture. |

Babyby JackoComment: Fantastic shot. I think I recognize this mini-Jacko. I love the expression, and the eyes are perfect. I somehow don't believe you've never shot this subject before, but you're getting a 10 anyway, cuz with his arms the way they are, it looks like little Samuel is holding the camera out in front of him and taking his own picture! 10. |

3D Abstractby egillibsenComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is a nice shot for the Abstract challenge. You have framed your subject well, and this is a nice crop. I like the splash of red, as well.
If there is a reason why this did not do better than it did, I suppose it is that most of the things I like about it are things that the painter of the image did. Yes, you chose what elements to include and where to place them in the frame, so it is a nice photo. But, it seems that rather than being an abstract photo, it is more of a photo of an abstract thing.
Have a nice day! |

Nebulaby thelselComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is a fantastic abstract. The colors are strong and complementary, and while the objects are kind of, well, nebulous, the little bubbles from the 7-Up give you something to get a sharp focus on, which you did fairly well.
Personally, I think that the upper-left half is a little dark compared to the lower-right half. It seems you have more light shining through the ice on the lower-right, which really brightens it up. I think that making the light gradient more uniform would be the only suggestion I have to improve this shot.
Have a nice day! |

Parentingby sagestudioComment: Fantastic perspective! This gives her that "big head" look. Her eyes are well captured, and the background nicely blurred. What really does it for me is the bare feet. Fantastic shot! |
