The Monkby gudbjargarsonComment: I like the odd juxtaposition of this subject to the formality of the portrait setting. I'm not really appreciating the choice of a very shallow depth of field however, especially since there is nothing distracting in the background that needs strong blurring. I would like to see the whole subject in sharp focus. |

Another year has gone by!by patrinusComment: Evokative of a painting. Very lovely. I love the light and the subdued yet rich color. Nice attention to the classic triangle form created by her pose and her cane. |

Got Milk?by XileboComment: Precious! Simple composition, great catch light in the eyes, good color, nice detail in the fur, and the milk on its whiskers is a great touch. |

Secular Communionby MPRPROComment: Very nice candid. I like that you got right down to their level. You really get a sense of their frailness and how age tends to shrink us. It also has the effect of creating an intimacy between the viewer and the subject. We arae brought into their world for a moment. Thanks for sharing this refreshing change of view. |

Sunsetby TiberiusComment: Very nice sunset. It surpasses the ho-hum effect of 'not another sunset shot'. I think that is due to the subtle gradation of color in the sun and sky, the converging lines of the bridge and the strong verticals of the towering forms (don't really know what they are). Really excellent work. |

The big raceby eirasiComment: Love the blur. Love that you got a nice sharp capture the foremost sheep's face. This is one of my favorites after viewing 105 images. |

Moonrise at Dawnby C_Steve_GComment: This just doesn't make a visual impact for me. It is very monochromatic. The trees don't hold my interest and the sliver of moon is just too tiny to make a strong statement. That said, it probably took a bit of effort to capture it clearly at this time of day. Keep on keeping on is about all I can offer. |
