shuttlecock and racketsby lizbeth010Comment: This is a very busy looking macro because of the grass poking through the racquet netting. The overhead lighting is very flat, washing out a lot of the detail and color. The hot spot running along the edge of the racquet detracts. The red, white and blue scheme would have worked better without the green grass. You should have eliminated the other racquet that appears at the corner of the frame. It does not add to the idea but is distracting to the eye. |

Blades of Steelby Toby-DogComment: I'm not seeing any blades here. I really can't tell what the subject is from this photo. Perhaps a hockey skate turned upside down? It just isn't clear enough what the subject is. All I see is plastic, rivets, and some upside-down letters with a very bright light flare at the edge of the frame. It doesn't work as an abstract for me because there isn't any real wow factor in this shape or the negative space it creates. |

Across the Generationsby HifiComment: This might be a good photo but it is too hard to tell from this tiny image. Please use the 640 pixel limit you are allowed so that we can see the details of your photos in the future. d |

Before Football Players Wore Armourby theSajComment: This doesn't really say anything about sports. Your title is confusing. I think you mean football players used to wear armour, in reference to medieval games, but the wording actually suggest that football players wear armour *now* but this is what they used to wear. At any rate, nice try but I don't think this meets the challenge. As a still-life the subject is interesting but the composition adn the flat overhead lighting don't show it in an appealing way. The gauntlets look a bit out of focus. |

Go Catchby ChefbozComment: This is a mundane subject that is difficult to make interesting. This is a nice try; the background is simple but the lighting is rather flat and harsh. d |

Which Way's the Band?by fredluvsHimComment: Those white uniform shoes make a very boring subject. Isn't there a colorful hat or jacket that goes with a band uniform that you could have shown instead? The trombone is a much more interesting subject but it is obscured by the shoes. dddddd |

Ski Footballby basia03Comment: I'll take your word for it that this is a sport but this is a rather dull scene. A ski lift in the spring with no passengers? The mid-day light is very flat. |

Choose your Gameby TimboMacheteComment: This is a pretty mundane subject. This composition isn't do much to make it more interesting. Perhaps if the background had been blurred the subject would appear more bold. It does form dthe classic triangle but placed in the center of the frame it's not working as hard as it should be. |

Fixtureby DianaBComment: This is an extremely mundane subject. The glare and reflections on the glass don't help (you really need to use a polarizing filter to shoot a subject that is behind glass -- sometimes shooting at an angle can help reduce the glare and reflections). |
