treesby poserComment: I think birch trees always make for good B&W, they always add contrast to their surroundings. For one of your first conversions it's a very nice job. The blown out sky you could have masked and then darkened. I really like taking landscape/seascape shots, I still get blown out skies even with a Polarizer Filter so a Graduated ND Filter would also be a big help. |

Day 2: Coffeehouseby RebeccaComment: Interesting street shot. I think a little more in focus would be nicer. I really like th amount of lighting here (though I'm sure that made it harder for more in focus without a fast lens). The lighting really sets a good mood for this. |

Oldie of the road #1by robinssongComment: I think it's a great candid shot (I'm uncomfortable taking them as well...you'll seen none in my portfolio). Nice processing. |

Day 2 B&Wby KatmystiryComment: I like it. Very nice night photo. I think it works great for B&W. The conversion worked well maintaining the depth of the colors. |

Day 1: May Dayby Blue MoonComment: Nice choice of subject. This is a very interesting flower for B&W, the edges really maintain the shape of the flower and the stigma/stamen make the center pop. The white ones that you say are blown you could have done some masking on those and darkened them up...or some blur effect to make them less distracting. On this photo though the main flower is so interesting that it's not as distracting. Very nice job. |

doorby BAMartinComment: It looks the an old film shoot location from a scary movie. What's waiting in that room? Nice shot... it's very good at evoking an emotion. |

Fallen (1)by TonyTComment: I think straight B&W (wood) have worked out better also. It would have made subject stand out more from the grass. |
