Nice composition. It's funny, I was looking at a pinecone today when I picked up my kids from school and thought that would be neat to take a closeup of. Nice work....now I have to think of something else.

Day 9 - A Horse, of course

I would have moved the eye up and to the left for this one. What I've found that works good on closeup equine photo's (the short hair) is if on you background copy you really boost the midtone contrast up (~70 possibly) and contrast ~30 and then make that layer's opacity down to around 30 or so, it really makes the different colored hairs stand out.
Horses do make good models.
