I find it distracting that the stem is blurry and the apply is blurry in the center. It's not easy to get round things all in focus with a shallow DOF...

Would have been a real killer with a stronger contrast in lighting between background and foreground! (darker background, brighter hummingbird)

Very good, but I liked the first one even better! On day 1, you showed off the beautiful texture on the front of the leaf as well. This day2 pic is more abstract, and I would probably guess that it was a piece of leather if I didn't already know ...

Wow, now I want to do that too! But my lenses are too short and my house not weather sealed - too risky :(

I'm surprised that the refractions in the background are that sharp. Did you perhaps focus a bit behind the water drops?
