Bug and Coin by JackoComment: Great capture. Lighting is spot on bringing out the details in both the coin and fly. The light and texture shown in the wing is amazing. 10 all the way |

I haven't got a clue why this didn't finish higher, can't have been many parents voting in this challenge. Beautiful shot, it certainly stirs emotion in me. |

Psycho by JackoComment: My voting criteria for this challenge are:
1. Did you capture a scene from the movie (as the challenge brief states) or did you enter a picture and fit a title to it.
2. How close a rendition is your image to the movie.
3. How does the image stand up in its own right.
In this case:
1. Pretty obvious that you shot this specifically for the challenge.
2. Almost spot on. I guess this is the scene most people remember, even those who haven't seen the film will know it. You've captured an image that screams its title without being titled.
3. Would this image stand up in its own right? Difficult to say as it's so closely tied to the film. Beginners should be told to look at this image as a photographic exercise in lighting and contrast.
Superb image. 10 |

2. How close a rendition is your image to the movie.
3. How does the image stand up in its own right.
In this case:
1. Pretty safe to assume that you took this photo for the challenge and this film.
2. I think this is a good rendidtion of the scene, colour may have helped though.
3. Using the TV as the light source has unfortunately lead to under-exposure in most of the image, exposing for the head and body would have shown more detail in the image.

The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964, Anthony Mann)by amonteforteComment: My voting criteria for this challenge are:
1. Did you capture a scene from the movie (as the challenge brief states) or did you enter a picture and fit a title to it.
2. How close a rendition is your image to the movie.
3. How does the image stand up in its own right.
In this case:
1. Not convinced that you organised a Roman themed party just to take a photo for the challenge but what do I know.
2. Well set up to look right for the period.
3. The lighting and exposure is good, but I just don't find anything in the image to hold my attention.
Overall a good picture which meets the challenge. 6 |

The Dentist by grigrigirlComment: My voting criteria for this challenge are:

2. How close a rendition is your image to the movie.
3. How does the image stand up in its own right.
In this case:
1. Unless you're some sort of wierdo, or a dentist, I guess you set this shot up for the challenge.
2. Scares the wotsit out of me just looking at it, very dark, very moody, very well done.
3. The lighting and exposure is very good, the shadow on the wall really adds to the menace.
Overall a very good picture which meets the challenge. 10 |
