I didn't vote in this challenge. I would have scored it fairly hight because I love shots like this. I feel the grief in the whole image. The only distraction is the funky light cast on the wall on the right.

I don't see this as a 1,2,3, or 4 score. I like the composition and the black and white. I think that it may be just a bit on the fuzzy side, but that can be fixed with some unsharp mask or sharpening it up some. Maybe the vothers didn't like the black and white. Not sure. Free studies are harder to score well in because the subject matter is open. Who knows what the voters were thinking.

I am struggling myself with my images and what would make them better. I will continue to try and improve. Lovely shot by the way.

I really love this photo. I love the composition and the colors. Only thing I would recommend is to make it a bit brighter. You are doing great with your photos!
