Heavy Drizzleby dw_photoComment: There are just so many of these shots in this challenge; there's good stuff here - the detail and exposure of the main subject leaf is really well executed, and the sense of reflected light is strong. The de-sat of the background annoys me - just a personal thing, but it feels like being forced into the image, where it should draw me of its own merits. |

Can Collector (The Bowery, 2005)by pawdrixComment: As a street portrait I like this very much. The pose works absolutely to bring it into the challenge (not suggesting it's a posed shot, but you know what I mean). The processing and depth of field is exemplary, exposure and tonality, escpecially in that green shirt, marvellouslly clear. |

Storm on the Waterby neenee1999Comment: Certainly a good scene for the challenge - but i think you need to work on ideas of composition and processing. Certainly more contrast would have helped bring out the depth of tones in the sky, and could have made the dark grey even more threatening. Compositionally - good that you haven't placed the horizon centrally as so many do, but the tree and landing stage make a very confused left-hand side of the image, especially with the smaller areas of tree intruding into frame. |

Drought: Watching And Waitingby lshlesComment: I'm pretty certin the negative approach isn't going to wash with the voters, but it is of course tricky to be original and different and if you're somehwere without rain ...
I'm not wholly sure about your composition here - the framing seems somewhat arbitrary, with the shapes of those dried leaves not working together for you. The angles and shapes I think need to be more coherent in their overall effect - this seems too random. Great blue, though. |

Sadness in the Rainby BobsterLobsterComment: Perfect exposure, excellent detail - it's remarkable how the quality of a camera and lens shows through the re-sizing process really. Two things really make it: the sleeves hanging below the hands, and the one trouser-leg not tucked into the boot - perhaps a shame that you haven't got the full figure in frame, to emphasise that last point. |

Raining againby JohannesFrankComment: Love the feel here - a strong sense of that head-down just-get-through-it unremitting drizzle. You might have had a slightly stronger composition - this seems to fall a little between a set of parallels and a more leading group of those cows; I also wonder if a little pulling down of the exposure wouldn't have deepened and enriched the green tones, and perhaps lost the sense of the sky drifting into over-exposure, although obviously the details of the cows themselves needed to be maintained. It's a fine shot, even with those reservations, and even with the slight feeling of missing the very finest detail. |

Come out and playby NazgulComment: Excellent portrait - with the slight reservation that you might have calmed down the highlights on the glove and the bear a touch - they have that very digital over-exposed feel. Great tones otherwise though. One has to hunt for the suggestion of rain (as opposed to cold) a bit more than bodes well for your score in a Rain challenge here, but it's a good shot. |

Umbrella Blownby JPRComment: Interesting, dirty image - love the feel of it, very expressive. The areas you appear to have darkened seems a brutal effect - perhaps a touch heavy--handed? Not enough feathering? Nothing else in frame seems to go quite a black as those areas ... and the overlap with the umbrella makes it plainly editing. Outside of that reservation though, a much more intriguing image than most |

delivery boy (shot under basic editing rules)by tomzinhoComment: Nice image - and the kind of title I would expect to put folks' backs up. I'm not sure, for myself, and given the rule-set, that the process of your editing is much of an issue in my assessment of this - at least, it wasn't until I read the title. |
