Niles Canyon Railwayby TarbiniComment: Hurrah for colour, at last. Is this a slightly wide-angle shot? Whatever, I love the effect. The DOF might be a little deep, or the focus is in the wrong place for me, or something. Maybe composition? I need to think about this a bit more ... 8 for now :-) |

Dreaming Of Veniceby catjonesComment: why have you made this b&w? I love the colours of the stone in this street, and you've taken them all away! Shame, too, about the flare out of the sky. |

Into The Mystic by sherComment: Lovely. Seen it before? But so well done, it doesn't matter too much. I'll have to see just how close to that other shot it is though ... which I have, and of course it's really quite different. Great tones, great light, great detail, composition. I think you're the first 9 this week |

Micro Bridgeby pitsamanComment: Pretty - but the white balance is out - thus the blue/green of the snow and the green tinge to the sky. It's correctable, and I can't see why you haven't. |

I Walked Hereby greenem2Comment: Oh I like this - DOF, those curves, the repetitions of the balustrades and their shadows ... I have reservations about the b&w though - looks like it might have been a quite high-colour scene, though I guess the flare out out the sky is more bearable in monochrome. |

State to Stateby ChuckieComment: Very nice photo - pity about the quality issues, but I guess they're the camera, certainly looks that way. have you tried a version without the cars at the foot of the image? They might ground everything, but they also seem like a distraction. |

In The Gardenby boyte1Comment: Oh thank you - a properly exposed digi photo. So few others managed it! Doesn't quite have the leap-out-of-the-screen quality that my favourites have, but great effort all the same. |

Magic Bridgeby JPRComment: Very nice shot - the saturation really works well here, almost an impression of daylight at night. Love the foreground reflections too. The winner so far, for me (that, by the way, seems to almost guarantee you little success :-)) |

Footbridge on a foggy morningby BudweezerComment: very good - great detail and atmosphere, especially on the foreground. I wonder if you might have tried a slightly faster exposure to lose some of the flare out of the top left corner - looks like the foreground would have borne it to me. Or you might even have cropped some )more) of the top out? - The menu bar of my pc has it framed that way as I write, and I think it looks great! Up with the best this week though. |

From here to Eternityby ArtifactsComment: Good detail, good focus. Not sure the verticals are vertical, if you see what I mean: check the nearest pillar - it seems to be leaning over. Also, some noise in the sky. It looks like it would hae been fantastic in colour too ... |
