Eraserby yeouaComment: Well lit, but a touch chaotic - there isn't a real sense of somewhere for the eye to dwell: more like a scientific exposition of something than a exhibitable photograph. |

...by fannybComment: Good capture of smoothness - good process of colour and light through the frame. Perhaps its appeal lies more in the colour than the texture - do you think it would have worked in B&W? That wouldn't remove the texture, would it ... |

"Berry Smooth"by jpochardComment: There is at least texture here - though let down by a weak and disorganised picture: the shape of that spill of chocolate, the cropping, the munber of elements to take the eye. |

Textures of the Seaby DsealeComment: I find this a bit weak compositionally: and the light and shade a bit blunt. It seems to emphasise shininess rather than smoothness. Whatever that stuff is surrounding the main shell seems very arbitrary. |

Pin-Stripped Suit by ellamayComment: Wonderful abstract-ish shot. Great light, great feel. Not quite sure it really gives an impression of texture - it seems more graphical than that, more about lines and colours than surfaces, but I'm sure the impact of the shot will get past that in most voters minds. Still a 7. |

Rose between two thorns. Ouch!by trainComment: Well lit, and I suspect a genuinely 'found' subject, but the leaves are distracting, and the stalk being almost exactly on the edge of the focal plane is confusing. Visually, the texture seems to be primarily visible on that stalk, and yet it's barely in focus - makes the image confusing and rather odd. |

Cold, Hard Cashby mocabelaComment: Whilst you have shown this surface quite well, there is a lot more to be got out of this kind of subject. The levl of reflection used is effective in making the point of your title, but I think perhaps over-done from a visual point of view - I mean simply, doesn't look so good. Cropping and framing make it a very clauustrophobic image. |

Smooth as iceby Links 2 3 4Comment: Bizarrely low contrast shot - almost appears to go negative at one point. Composition is weak, and what I'm seeing doesn't say smooth as your title does. |

Face Timeby boxjockeysComment: Odd positioning of subject: distribution of elements within frame is poor. Some texture, but can't escape the fact that there's probably a lot more there than you've shown. |

Ice with characterby Polar7Comment: Liek the sparkle you've captured, almost over-exposing for those icicles. I find this weak compositionally though, and the point you've chosen for the incidence of the horizo (or whatever) and your subjects a bit weird. There is at least some sensation of texture in the nearer icicle. |
