I otter be in pictures!by Sverige52Comment: Tonally excellent - the blue/green and the contrasting earthy tones of the animal and the stone are well caught. Some detail lacking - just don't get that feeling of real fine detail - and the light and cropping perhaps leave something to be desired. |

Galleryby davidbedardComment: I'm unconvinced about the processing here - sure, it's a legitimate entry, and all legal and everything, but it takes what would appear to me to have been rather a fine photograph into the realms of something else. I see a connection between the subject and the treatment too, but don't find it holds much appeal. |

Waropolyby PaulkComment: Strange picture: terribly well executed, technically of course, and I like the detailing both of shot and of set-up, in that cards and stuff. Did you make that monopoly board? Or are they actually so utterly insensitive that it is produced commercially? I wouldn't put it past some people ... but I think it must be your own work - terribly convincing. Overall, however, the image is a touch disorganised, which dilutes its impact - and in fact, I think it's too dependent on text for it's real moments of fun. |

Hanging out with older kidsby ayshihComment: There is a certain appeal, despite what seems to me rather blatant lighting: the glare on the grape would perhaps have been something to avoid - makes it rather trying to look at. Nice idea though, and otherwise fine execution ... it's just that lighting is so crucial to photography ... it cries out for the use of a soft-box, or at least a much more diffuse light-source that that you have used. |

Fortune Magazineby dsidwellComment: Ouch - just seen this score and placing. I guess the ridiculous number of ribbons you already have is some consolation, but to both score over 7 and come on fourth is a cruel result David.

The Raceby flip89Comment: An unbelievably good photograph - I love pretty damn nearly everything about this, it might well be my all time favourite on this site. Just awesome - not so much for the motion blur and all that, but the sheer MOOD of it. Perfect. Everything else in this challenge pales into insignificance ... |

Pet Peeveby ellamayComment: Whoa - mad eye! From the thumbnail I thought this would be a pretty dull shot really - but it's real class act indeed. Reminds me of a couple of things, I'll have to look them up. |

Clean Reflectionsby LtHousLadyComment: Haven't been able to get on-line much recently, due to a major row with my service provider, so haven't voted as much as I'd like. This is a very strong image though, and has been disgracefully esrved by the voters - I love the lmaost ghost-like effect of the presence of the obttle in only the mirror world (Of course it's obvious that it's only out of frame - but that's also the beauty of the trick - that it's so simple it isn't really a trick at all). It takes quite a developed eye to see our three-dimensional world in such a way. Great work.
I don't quite go for it enough to favourite it, not just yet. But we'll see if it grows anymore on me. Message edited by author 2004-03-29 17:04:10. |

Girl with Dogby zeuszenComment: i like very very few photographs that use flash - there's always something of the element of cop-out about it. here you've brought it thoroughly to the fore, privileged that slightly surreal look, and it's hugely atmospheric, and perfectly balanced: as though the world has backed off for a moment to allow you to take this shot. |

My New CD Burnerby NeilComment: Nice visual pun. I think you could have used more ambient light perhaps - just to amphasise that tower a touch more. |
