View from platform Bby jjbeguinComment: Lovely work, especially pleasing in its balance of colours and tones - complementary blue and orange are almost always effective. The definition in the steelwork creeping out from the silhouette is tremendous. I sense, beyond anything I could explain exactly, something missing though here - really couldn't say what. |

Behind the Veilby dsa157Comment: great portrait - love the light on the cheek, jaw and eye. obviously the shot is outside the challenge stipulation (you'd have a hard time convincing me that the subject of this shot is the view from a window), but I'd guess anough people will have bashed you for that already. My mind questions the cropping - but my eye finds the compositional balance very effective. |

AUCKLAND FROM THE DISTANCEby slonkoComment: I guess other things perhaps ruin the composition, but I'd love to see that sun-burst placed in the middle of that window frame. Good exposure, good hyper-focal distance. The slight sharpening artefacts around the frame are actually quite effective in adding emphasis to the silhouette. |

Rainy Daysby mariomelComment: My comment below should say 'only very slightly flawed', instead of being quite so brusque sounding. Lovely shot, this, and deserved a better placing, and certainly a better score. |

untitledby soupComment: Wow. Crazy, mad, threatening, ominous, and wonderful. I really wish the lines of the whatever-it-is were straight, from a rigidly compositional point of view. entrancing stuff though. Just great. |

The Shining Crescentby tyt2000Comment: Reminiscent of something, though i can't recall what. Brian Harris perhaps. Love the tones around the curves of the minaret, particularly, and of course the framing of the crescent. |

Sunday Sunrise by UNCLEBROComment: Strangely enough, the 'validation notice' makes me wonder what might have been thought 'illegal' about this shot. I would guess it's a window frame taken to the shoot with you, but that really is a guess.
It's very well executed, though the scene beyond seems slightly washed out - lacking a touch of contrast, ofr a real punch. |

Sunset Stormby ImagineerComment: Out of Liverpool Street heading up towards Hackney, yes? I live in Bow, and think I probably have photos taken at almost exactly the same time - from very nearly the same angle, just a little further away - the placement of the gherkin and the Nat West Tower (as it shall ever be called), are almost exactly the same as the view from my window as I sit here typing ... really quite a creepy effect. I rmember that contrast of yellow/orange and blue light, and that weather front that swept across ... how very very wierd to see this here.
Good shot too - especially love the fact that the only reference to a window is those reflections, and yet it's so clearly taken through a wndow. |

renegadeby sixgunwoodyComment: Really like this - and in general, I absolutely loathe the selective desturation trick. here it seems to have pint, emphasis, and a fittingness to the image beyond the very blunt 'look at this' that it is ususally employed to shout. great feel, great depiction ofan emotion (the warmth of home, however temporary, perhaps). Just a wonderful photograph, really. |

Eye of the Stormby BobsterLobsterComment: To head this little grouping of yourself, Gordon, David and I is a rare privilege. Great shot, or perhaps image, but I'm afraid it didn't speak of chaos to me ... but then, evidently, my own approach didn't apeak strongly of chaos to many either.
