'Rustic' ... I'm not sure it's quite the word I would have chosen. Still, no surprise.

Got to the Bramhope Tunnel monument in Otley, and read the details. Go to Chapel-le-Dale churchyard, and read the details. Then go back to Ribblehead and shoot it again. This construction should be photographed in muted tones, against an angry sky. Just one part of the most expensive piece of railway on the planet - including the channel tunnel. That's if you count in terms of human lives, of course. It's a good shot, of course, and scores deservingly ... it's just that i think it should be freighted with it's history.

Your top so far Skip. Strong work in a tricky challenge; and with the bonus of that lovely shot of the dogs, too ;-)

The Old Town Hall in Geneva, again, huh? There are so many signature elements to this composition: the near-incidental (but essential) presence of life, the moment of oddness provided by the plant-pot, the strong sense fo rhythm and repetition in the railings and balustrades, and in the arches, the geometrical framing , the sense of texture in the stone. And a sense of waiting in shadow, which is not uncommon in your work either. It works on very many levels (regression through the various arches, one plant, two birds, three square windows, etc.). I lmost feel I know my way around this place now.

Good. For me, yourr crop is a touch loose at the top and tight at the bottom, almthough the stock agencies would love that, I'm sure. It has a grace and sense of light that I like very much.

I was once told that the speed and accuracy f writing files toa hard disk equates to flying a jumbo jet at 4 inches above the ground at 4000 miles an hour. I din't realise someone had ctually done that. Fascinating shot.

Doesn't, for me, have the power of speech that the best shots in this challenge have. It has beautiful moments, and some real strength, however.

Great photography. It speaks to me of our attempts to regiment our children, our oft-mistaken idea that education is about bringing them all to some accepted 'norm' - and f the hugely optimistic hoplesness of that aspiration: the individuality of our children will always triumph over our attempts to put them in boxes, and more power to them for that. Even if they have all got the same kind of hat on. Lovely - no, more powerful than that - well, simply great photography.

A bunch of good stuff - exposure particularly, and that whiteness of the falls. Composition? Kind of disappointing, given the evident strength of the rest of the work here. The primary point of focus of this image is dead centre frame, and all the motion of the eye is restricted to the bottom two thirds of frame at most, and mostly to the left and centre thirds; I can't help but think had you framed it that way you'd have an even more mystical and entrancing image, without looosing that feel of looming out of black that you have caught so well.

The light, tonality, detail are marvellous. I've yet to find shots of kids looking happy particularly appealing, but that's beside the point. I think the overall composition is a touch weak - your chosen framing/cropping, for me, unblances what could have been a tremendous shot: it doesn't quite have the flow one would really want.
