Full Moon 10/6/2006by SDWComment: You got this at exactly the right time of day to get the blue sky. You must have been using a 1.4 or 2x to get to 480mm. I'm impressed that the trees in the left foreground are in good focus. You were a long way away from them I would guess.
Good shooting, esp hand held with the long lens. |

City Glow – Tacoma, Washingtonby GeneralEComment: This reminds me of nights spent out in the Fl Everglades. You can use the glow of the cities to stay oriented when it's too cloudy to see the stars. Thanks for the reminder. |

respireby bspurgeonComment: Excellent! The little detail left in the bark on the tree gives just enough hint of reality to not interfere with the interplay of light and darkness. This one hits that level of a photo that you sort of feel instead of looking at for details. |

IMG_0969_by DeniseComment: This one has a great leading line, and the cloud is like a mountain behind the scene. This is a great example of shooting at the right time of day, and having the sky working to make the scene. |

Tranquilityby DeniseComment: This is a grabber of a shot. It was fortunate that the current has the boats lined up the way they are to "watch" the sunrise. I also notice the light shining through the windows of the buildings. |

Twin Towers of LAby tangueraComment: Great composition, with the curve in the cloud leading into the bright sunlight between the buildings. This is very good for a film shot, to have the blues and orange come out so nicely. It's too bad that you don't still have the original negative. |

~ Seahorse ~by hihosilverComment: Can't get enough of this one! Most DPC voters do not appreciate blur when it is appropriate, for the awesome impact that it can have in photos. The ones that "get it" though, voted and commented. This one would sell like hot cakes as large framed prints.

Fencelineby Bear_MusicComment: That low cloud is almost like a false horizon in this one. This one does not have the punch that the "Turbulence" image seems to have. I think that it might be that the major lines in this one are all horizontal. In the other one, there is a strong leading line with the seawall jutting out toward the ocean. |
