Avenue of the Americasby myqylComment: If you shoot this type scene again, try it at f6 or f8 and it will be sharper. At f32, the tiny aperture opening causes diffraction of the light passing through it, making the details in the photo soft.
At a shutter speed of 30 sec, there may have been some movement of the building that you were in which would also contribute to the softness. Shooting at f8, the shutter speed would have been 4 sec to get the same exposure. If you were also shooting through a window, the camera can pick up on haze and "film" on the window that you wouldn't notice by just looking at it.
It's a nice view, and shot from a good location. |

An Afternoon Swimby GinaRothfelsComment: The voters hate ducks, except the rubber ones.
That's a bummer about getting the brown. The good part is that it can only go up from here.
Hugs for ya. |

New England boat house in Autumn.by DeniseComment: That's a very pretty scene. I have no way of knowing how much water you had to work with for this one. If there was enough water surface to get a reflection to the tree tops, it may have made a more interesting shot to keep only the reflection.
The colors in the trees are sweet. I'm wondering if you used a gradient filter to get the reflection to be as bright as the actual scene, or if you did that in processing. |

Offbeat bokeh? Turn to page 2.8by bspurgeonComment: What a creative approach. It's very minimal, and very cool too. It leads you to think, which is a good thing.
I guess that most of the voters just didn't "get it". |

In The Land Of The Navajoby smichenerComment: This is a magnificent scene. I feel that it may have suffered a little in voting from the exactly centered composition/ shore line at center level.
Congrats on a very good score and a beautiful image. |

Estuary at Daybreakby Bear_MusicComment: The little group of trees add the scale that helps this one for me. That's a pretty dramatic sky too. I guess that you were fortunate to have a morning with a storm passing offshore for this one.
Congrats on a great spot in the challenge for your birthday! |
