Pangnirtung-22.jpgby VanBergenComment: The light grey stands out on the dark earth background. The angular shapes in the mountains reflect the angular theme of the ship.
Two things might be better, but opportunity may not have allowed one of them.
The wake sort of messes up the foreground, so shooting it while returning to the ship would eliminate that.
The other is try for the "rule of thirds" a bit, by moving the main subject a little off center toward a corner.
I feel that the timing was right to get the right relationship between the sizes of the ship and mountains, so that one does not overpower the other.

Window-@-Fort.jpgby bvlindalouComment: All the elements here seem to paint a picture of long ago. I like the repeating theme of the windows, first near then far. I don't see how you could change anything except maybe to smooth out the doily that the lamp sits on.
This looks like a fun place to experiment with shooting thru the wavy old glass in the lamp shade if you were allowed to get that close to it. |

horse.JPGby illoosi0nComment: Fun pic here. My first thought would be to name it "Racing Tip".
B&W and the frame make it even better. I like what you are doing so far, except for losing so much gear. Best of luck with your new equipment.

IMG_0004.JPGby igoofryComment: If you happen to be able to reshoot this, try it right at sunset as the sky is getting darker, and the lights will balance with the sky at some point. Still, neon lights make good subjects, even at night. South Beach is a world of it's own when the sun goes down. |

Butterflyby BadgerComment: Nice browns. Did you notice that the wing looks like a snake or small alligator head with the nose pointing up? I'm almost sure it's a genetic survival technique. |
