Ah Ha! I see that you have the fabled Nikkor lens. It looks like it is working well for you! The boaters seem to be having a good time. I see excellent sharpness and detail, even though you were shooting into the glare on the water.

I like that you waited for the train to brighten up what would have been a rather drab scene.
When I was a teenager, my friends an I would play in the wood chip cars at a sawmill where the father of one of my pals worked. It was the last active sawmill of any size in this area of Florida. Thanks for the reminder of happy times.
I wonder how much effect the flood had on the mill there?

Cool looking place. I wonder if it was a "Grange" hall a long time ago? Beautiful the way you have photographed it with the garden in the foreground.
It stands out to me that it has no shutters or awnings of any kind. Is that a common feature of local building style?

Wow! This reminds me of the "little miss muffet" nursery rhyme, but this spider is going to have a cold butt when it sits down.
Very nicely captured. I can see that this image would be a great starting point for some photoshop trickery by turning the background into sky blue, or black.
It looks very natural to me, and I like it just as you have it.
Can you clarify the term "wheelie bin" for us who are across the pond?

At first glance I thought that this may be New England, and the first line of your comment explains why. This place has quite a colorful history! Thanks for sharing. I haven't read all of it yet as I don't have time right now, but will be back for the rest soon.
It looks like one of the ghosts just vanished in a puff of smoke in the sky above the village. : )

Nice back yard you have. It looks like there may have been a garden just beyond the dog pen. Northern dogs are tough. I run a little heater for my yard dog on nights when the temp gets below 45F.
Have a great Sunday.

I really like the lighting, with the one out front spotlighted. It looks to me a bit like a military line up for inspection, with the single cart out front being the inspector.
Sometimes the most mundane looking things make the most engaging images by holding a view long enough for us to interact with it instead of it just slipping by in a half second on a busy day.

We don't get many bare trees like that in this area. They make good props for this kind of shot.
I try to do my moon shots about 15 to 30 minutes before sunset when it is still light outside. By underexposing the ground, you can get the same effect and retain the detail in the features on the moon. That way the daylight balances the bright level of the moon, and the moon will have detail. It isn't always possible, but it works well when you have the opportunity to get the capture in that time frame.
The deep blue in the sky in this image is very nice!

Thanks for posting this image. My brothers wedding was in Chicago in 1967, and I remember going to the Field Museum. It was a great experience for a hick (country) kid at that time, and must be even more enjoyable now with all the tech advances with the displays.
You picked a good vantage point to display the great room and entry way. The light is very good with the white building and skylights above. Good image, and it connects me with a happy time.

It is good to not be totally surrounded with houses. I see what looks like a railroad in the background? It must be very relaxing there when the trees get leaves in the spring.
