Bottoms Upby pmichaudComment: It's funny that in the posting thread you would mention "asspect" ratio LOL.
To me, that water looks uncomfortably cold. |

Pretty Birdby KimmymacComment: This is a healthy looking Nicobar Pigeon. I don't find the BG distracting at all either. The focus is just a little soft around the bird's head. If I have time, I manually focus on the eye of the bird when shooting birds. Sometimes they move their head right when you get the shot, and it just looks out of focus. Maybe that is what happened here.
Colors are sweet. Birds are awesome. |

Mar 01 - Sunsetby hajekaComment: It's an interesting contrast, with the quiet looking canals and pasture/ farm land in front of the busy docks with their big cargo cranes and activity. It looks sort of like a shot through the window of a train while in motion for some reason. I see you used your P&S. Those little cams are one of the better, or at least, most useful things produced by todays technology. |

13by JutildaComment: This is good stuff! Somehow this seems somewhere between ZZ Topp, and Blues Brothers. Nicely processed too. The strong contrast gives it a B&W look, only with color.
BTW, it probably had a "straight eight" in it for power. Message edited by author 2010-03-01 23:14:57. |

Snow Sculptureby KimmymacComment: Snowmen on steroids! What a "cool" thing to do. It's nice that you used a low angle to isolate the sculpture from the background clutter. |

Engine 306by stargazer05766Comment: This is a nice dash of color in an otherwise ordinary landscape. The nearest train line from here is about 15 miles, and I miss hearing the horns and the throb of the engines. It brings back memories of my young teens, when I would ride my bike to the train station in my hometown after school to watch the action, and see the telegraph operator at the station at work. |

Come Swim With Meby pmichaudComment: This critter looks so graceful underwater. This image certainly shows off the way that those big legs are built for power. Exposure is just right to get the fur to look so good. |

Bird's Ass Viewby cynthiannComment: This is really nice in B&W. The lack of color cuts it down to the basic light, shade, and lines in a way that would be confused by color. |

Work Boots by NikonJebComment: Congrats Jeb! You never know when you will get a very popular shot. Sometimes the best ones just happen with no stress at all about shooting them. You're just getting better at having those moments. |

90 Minute Parkingby GermaineComment: This has your trademark California girl lighting. Many of your images have that film photography "semi pastel" look that is difficult to get with digital.
I think that I would have framed to get the top of the tree. I noticed a while back that it helps the images that I shoot to do that. It somehow breaks the flow around the edge of the shot when the tree tops are out of the frame. |
