Real drama here! The diagonal line of shadow really gives this image some implied drama. Color and cropping help, too. 10

Wonderful capture! This shows him in context, and with many interesting lines and objects, but without stealing anything from him and his job. 10

I love how the light on the hair suggest an Einstein like person. The title is confusing, though. I happen to know this man, but others do not know if he does physics for a living, or whether he's just sitting back doing some math. A DR. or PROF in front of his name or just a simple "Physics Professor" would clarify much for voters. I love this shot and wish it would win!

This takes a second to click in to what it is. I like how the dark tones suggest Soul. perhaps a different point of view would clue us in more that this is a sax--including more keys, for instance, or just panning a little wider?

Your lighting certainly gives the shoe some dimension and depth. The darker tones don't really add any emotional quality to the shot--only a bit of formality. Perhaps a different point of view would add some drama.

the lighting really adds dimension and depth to this cherub. The dark tones also add a sense of loneliness or sadness to the image. I also like the addition of the tree to help frame this shot.

This makes a unique abstract, but enough is in detail that I want to know exactly what's going on. I'm not sure how I should feel about burnt food bits left in a pan. To me, it's not quite interesting in and of itself, yet no real story is suggested by either the photo or its title.

Bridge

Comment:
Some might not call this low key, but I think it's pretty dark, or dark enough, anyway. The brightest parts, however, do steal the attention away from the bridge, whose sillouette I do not find all that interesting, though it makes a good background for the engaging clouds and light.
