Lord of the fliesby nygoldComment: Love the snarls! Definitely right out of the book. The black and white are a little flat. Would definitely like more on the dark scale, particularly with this story. 6 |

Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradburyby BrennanOBComment: I like the framing of the book and the fire, but man I hate seeing books burn! I hope it wasn't the Bradbury! Totally out of your control, but would have liked the flames a little more isolated from one another. Cutting the tops off the flames off doesn't help them feel less cluttered. I do like that the ash remains, and the little piece of story trying to show though the destruction. 6 |

The Secret Gardenby pmichaudComment: Definitely looks like a path to the secret garden. I like the point of view from the dark pathway looking in to the sunny exit. The harshly lit stone in the middle is a tiny distraction. 6 |

Don Quixote (de la mancha) by HarlequinComment: I have not read the book, but I've seen enough pictures to know the windmill is a tie in. Image wise, I like the framing of this shot and the staggered greys. Well composed. 7 |

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886)by GarryComment: An interesting take on the dual personality. Not really reflective of the book era, but a minor nitpick. Otherwise well shot and composed. 7 |

Call of the Wild by BarbBComment: Not many of these in the snowy north! A fantastic shot, but it doesn't really tie to the story. Would have scored higher in another challenge. 6 |

1984 - George Orwellby FourPointXComment: Definitely see the Big Brother overtone in this. A very minor nitpick, but the dark frame on top and bottom could be a tiny thicker to give it more of the cinema feel. 7 |

Grapes of Wrathby snafflesComment: Very well composed and executed image. I don't think it has much to do with the story though, and that is really what I was looking for. In another challenge I would have marked it higher. 6 |
