Love the shot, but the tie to the story is not there. Not really what I would consider a classic either. Would have rated it higher in a different challenge. 5

I can't really tell if it is sunset on a farm, or on a field. The colors are nice and I like the silhouette of the trees, but it still seems to be missing a stronger tie to the story. 5

There are apparently several of these books, none of which I've read and mostly new. Not sure if I'm missing something there. I like the mood of this shot, but there are some aberrations that keep me from loving it. There is some over-sharpness particularly on the windows and cars, and some over smoothing on the sidewalks and clouds. Neither would be that bad by themselves in the context of this image, but combined they clash. 5

A decent candid. I get the tie to the story, but it feels forced a little. A little more on the dark scale would have helped build the story in this picture, as the only really dark spot is in the top corner and pulls my attention to it. 5

Clever! Not a bad take, but it doesn't blow me away either. 5

I have not read this book. With that in mind, this has an appropriateness about it. The hint of worship and the warm rich yellows really work well. 8

A curious take on an oft violent story. They almost seem too innocent, though I guess the story starts innocent in a way. I would like it a tad darker and more black toned only because of the dark overtones in the book. 6

I could see a ghost attachment to this place. Technically sound, but difficult to make spooky with the stronger light. The transition from sky to house seems to have a glow that I think detracts. 6

The girl sort of fits the story, but it seems like a reach. A pun on the title still, and a quite nice shot. Would have rated it higher in a different challenge. 6

The flames and tone are just right, except that the tops of the flames are cut off. The best part of the fire shots are the wispy tops. Still, a burning page right out of the book! 6
