Violetby RamblinRComment: A lovely "High Key" portraiture! The contrast may not be as extreme as the voters might be wanting to see, which may cost you some votes. The presentation is just too good to not score it well. High marks from me. It's beautiful work. |

The Barber Shopby GolferDDSComment: Morrisville, a fine neighborhood indeed! I think Black/White is a great choice for this. Very clean! Congrats on the honorable 4th place spot. |

A ^ Aby NeatComment: Very nice! The over-all presentation is nice to look at, even though it's only a small part of the subject. 10 from me. |

CanUCanoeby digifotojoComment: If it weren't for the title, I would have no idea what I'm looking at here. I'm afraid that may cost you some votes... I hope not too many. It's an interesting image. Certainly "artsy" but if you were shooting for a high score.... you may need to include just a few more details in the frame so the voters can see it is actually a row of canoes. I am interested to see how this does in the challenge. Good Luck! |

Late August Afternoon at MacMillan Wharfby Bear_MusicComment: I think the composition, placement and subject are all right on target. I'm not so fond of the washed out colors. I would like to think that the muted colors are extreme enough that I'm telling myself that it must be intentional processing. I hope that is indeed the case here. I do think a more naturally saturated photo with perhaps a little grit/grain added might have given this a little higher score. Right now, it looks like a calendar that has been hanging on the wall for so long the reds and yellows have faded away. Which is a look I try to avoid. I hope this is helpful. Mine is just one opinion, don't let it keep you from greatness just the way you like it. |
