Softby RetroesqueComment: this has a really good soft feel to it - the grass has just the right sharpness to it and the clouds look like rain |

Day 20 - Royal Palace of Justiceby jonfrommkComment: I like how you ran the arch up to the corner on the lift - it works really well to anchor this image. The tones are really very nice. The one thing I would like to see is a little more of the arches (maybe not possible to go any wider with your SC IS). This is a great doorway and I would like to see this really super wide. |

Castle.pngby simontaylorphotoComment: Welcome to DPC - glad to have you on the site.
This is a pretty cool castle and holds a lot of potential. I agree with others - it seems a little bland. Most 'wow' like photos will have some drama - a foreboding sky, a steep and unusual perspective, or connection to a place in some way. The photo as taken has good color and seems reasonably sharp and the lighting is okay - but longer shadows (morning/evening) will help this a bunch.
Unlike what 'snake' said about having to enter challenges to get comments - entering 'side challenges' or uploading pictures and asking for feedback really can work well to improve your shots.
I would recommend making comments about other people's photos - what you like, what you don't - be constructive and others will return the favor... Message edited by author 2007-05-20 14:59:55. |
