130 years and Still Standing!by vtruanComment: Composition: Interesting angle of shot. Could do with rotating a few degrees counter-clockwise.
Technical: The over-exposed sky draws the eye quite a lot. The whole pic is in focus, so you could have focused high up on the building so the camera thinks "oh, it's bright", then drag the camera down with the button half pressed. This would mean the sky isn't so white. Otherwise, the colouring is quite nice.
Meets challenge: Mostly.
Overall impression: Good effort. Practice with exposure will help a lot.

Galaxianby russiComment: Composition: Interesting that you left a lot of the background in. Think I might have made it a little squarer.
Technical: The lighting position/shadows are good, but it seems a little dark, meaning noise is a little high. You also seem to have over-sharpened; the right hand side has a white line.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Good effort.

Forestby pitsamanComment: Beautiful shot. It seems somewhat oversharpened along the tree trunks though. :-( |

Long Forgottenby autoolComment: Composition: Think I'd be tempted to leave a little more space above the top of the trees, and sacrifice a little ground.
Technical: Nice focus. Really nice smooth noise-free sky.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Nice shot. I'd have liked to see more of the building close up.

Time Marches Onby myqylComment: Composition: Nice central image and good filling of the shot.
Technical: Shot seems a little dark?
Meets challenge: Mostly.
Overall impression: This is a nice idea, but I think the carpet reduces the appeal.

Transportby amsmythComment: Composition: Nice use of thirds. I may have used a bit of "manual wide angle" and stepped back a few feet to get the whole cart in shot, if possible.
Technical: Good focus and nice contrast.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Can't help but think a different composition would help a lot.

But memories fade away, yeah, they are designed that wayby SharQComment: Composition: Looks quite centralised, but with the shadow and lighting seems to suit it quite well.
Technical: Nice focus, lighting and shadow.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: I really think the cloth adds a lot to this photo - making me think it's someone travelling or something like that. My favourite shot so far.

Out of the pastby trainComment: Composition: Would possibly pan right very slightly, to bring more of the train into view.
Technical: Nice focus and contrast.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Would be improved without the people. Could do with being a bit larger if possible.
