Tilt En Vogueby colorcarnivalComment: First I have to say that you won me over with your picture of your dog Barney. I love him! I also very much like your entry in this challenge. I'm not sure how to help you with it. The only thing that comes to mind is that it might work better if the line formed by the placement of the child's hands were perfectly verticle. That would seem to anchor the picture against the tilt. Not sure, but I keep thinking that when I look at this otherwise excellent photo. Nice work. |

Blossom on Iceby Pug-HComment: I had a really hard time seeing ice in this picture. I just kept thinking car metal or plastic. But I liked the bright flower and, thinking of ice, the brightness made me think of a very cold, bright, winter day. But I still couldn't see ice. Then I read your description that it is really the hood of your car... Anyhow, I like the bright colors. I think if you brought the forwardmost stamens into focus, and if you closed-up more on the flower with a soft bokah in the background, it would work better for me. |

Night Runner...by NikonJebComment: I really like this shot. I think it's a great subject; and I like that you shot it at night. I like seeing the branches through the windows. Maybe the lighting is a little harsh. I was thinking that it would look better with some lighting on the side facing the viewer. Then I read Melethia's suggestion of the flashlight "painting" and love that idea! I've seen some cool stuff done that way. I'd love to see how that would look and hope you'll post it. |

After the Stormby impilotComment: I agree with Melethia that the thing on the far left needs to go. The line of the fence and the line of grass lead your eye right to it, but it is only a distraction. If it was something surprising or vital to the picture, that would be awesome. But, as it is, it should go. There's something missing here, though; and I'm not sure what. Maybe if it was a horizontal shot that included something else and the tree was just the frame or background. Of course, you can always included a Labrador in any shot and I will automatically give it a ten. |

"1575" or "What Remains"by epescalaComment: I like the composition of the shot. To me, the verticle lines are nicely based on the foundation of the horizontal line of the bushes. But, for me, the subject isn't interesting. It's just sort of a big block of stone. I like beautiful scenery or interesting cultural shots or nature shots the most. For me, the only thing interesting about this particular piece of architecture is the fact that it was built almost 500 years ago. But, the structure itself is not. You probably took the best picture that could be taken of it. |
