nice use of contrast. I like the threatening skies, too. A more off-center composition would have made this one better, though (IMO). Did you get any shots of this barn close-up? I once heard a saying, "if it's not interesting your too far away". while this one is nice, a closer shot, with maybe an askew perspective would have made it dynamite.

a couple of constructive criticisms. A centered composition (kayaker right in the middle) tends to be a little boring. A better composition would have had him in the right side of the frame, giving a sense of him moving into the frame. I'm usually all for breaking the rules (rule of thirds here), but in this case, I think the rules would work. Also, the out of focus subject is distracting. Hard to get moving subjects in focus. Good use of the entire tonal range, though.
