Andres, that's correct, I just double-checked my EXIF. why would you think it is strange? without the filter the exposure would be 1000x smaller, i.e. 1/1250s, quite normal for a bright daylight.


I guess 5.6 is really not all that small, I was probably intuitively thrown off by the apparent softness of the light which leads you to think of a cloudy day. You are correct regarding the math. Thank you for answering my question.

Just one thing, are you sure it was a 10 stop ND? I would think 0.8 seconds with a 10 stop at f5.6/ISO 200 would have resulted in a nearly black image no matter how bright the sun was. Could you check it out please, it is intriguing.
