weapons of mass destructionby falveyComment: This shot really caught my attention and kept it. Very different from the rest. I like the contrast, especially on the creases in the white shot. I very nice shot. My only possible suggestion is to get rid of the red border, I don't think it's needed and draws away from the firecracker. 8 |

DON'T touch my catnip ball..... or else....by kosmikkreeperComment: I really liked this cat shot. It is one of my favorites in the challenge. I like the composition and the facial expression. You're choice of levels and contrast make it look like a pen and ink drawing. Very artistic. 8 |

A Very Cliché Shot in Punxsutawneyby alanfreedComment: I think I know who you are, since you posted in the forum about this, although suprisingly there were two of you that lived in the area. I think this is a super photo for this challenge. It made me laugh then smile. the perspective is nice and makes you follow the trail of top hats into the solid blue night sky. Did he see his shadow? 8 |

A Cliché Perspective?by r_sandlerComment: cold, harsh colors and composition blending with a soothing cool tone make this photo one of my top choices this week. The simplicstic elegance is enticing and contemplative to behold. I would like to know where this is. The only thing I would have changed is the shadow of the pole closest to you that isn't visible. I find it disturbing to the eye. I would crop it out or have gone back at a time when the shadows were angled differently, perhaps to show more of the one from the first visible pole. Excellent job, 8. |

NYC sunsetby BeeGeeComment: My top rated sunset this week! It may help that I am from NY, but even for other viewers, I think the statue of liberty and what it represents is a lot more powerful a silhoutee than pom trees, houses, and bushes. I like that you got the bird in the photo as well and the cranes or whatever in the background give it a very interesting feel. They make me think of strange mechanic giraffes and make me question the meaning of beauty and liberty in our great country. I might have cropped out the upper parts of the sky and the water on the bottom to get rid of the lightest whites as well as give it a nice widescreen look. Excellent job, 9. |

Cats Eyeby AnachroniteComment: My top cat this week! I love the composition. I would have liked to see more depth of field so that the frontal part of the nose was not quite so blurry. I think you might have lost some definition in making the file size smaller or you cropped down from a larger image after lowering the resolution. This is just my guess. Still, wonderful photo. 9 |

Let Sleeping Dogs Lieby mcraelComment: My top dog this week! I love the compostion. It stood out from the rest in that the entire frame is filled with the dog colors and doesn't have a distracting ill composed background or what I consider a ridiculously perfect set up with a sheet and lighting that usually renders an unnatural image of mans best friend. The dog, of course, is very cure, and the tennis ball is excellent in the foreground. I love how the wisps on the end of the tail seem to almost blend into the shredded part of the ball. I would print this and frame it (if it was my dog) Excellent job. 9 |

The Cliché Color: White by a1leyez0nm3Comment: Beautiful photo, very relaxing and contemplative. THe DOF and lighting are perfect in my opinion. I would crop slightly differently to rermove the small dark tree on the left and the cut off tree on the right. Wonderful shot, one of 4 of my 10's this week. |

The Early Birdby jitamsComment: Awesome picture! One of 4 of my 10's this week. The white and blue colors are excellent and the fact that you threw the bread up to the bird added tons to this picture. The composition is awesome. The only thing I would change, but I'm sure it isn't possible at this point is the cut of wing of the gull in the background. Nice job! |
