IMO, this photo could probably use a lot more contrast. Also, if there had been any way to take the picture at such an angle so that that tree wasn't in the way, that might increase the impact of this shot. Good try though, and interesting idea. :)

Well, here's my two cents. :)

First of all, it is kind of hard to tell exactly what this is. I would suggest shooting this from a different angle, and perhaps creating an unusual composition to grab the viewer's interest. Also, the image looks a little bit over-exposed. If you used your flash, you might want to consider backing up a little bit, or if possible lowering the strenth of the flash. This would help fix some of the blown-out highlights on the front of the subject. Another thing is the background... a plain, simple background might make your image look less like a snapshot... I hope all this was helpful! :)

Some of the highlights look a little blown and overexposed here. Perhaps the flash was too close or to bright? If there was any way to fix that, that might increase the impact of the photo. Otherwise, nice shot! :)
