The image would have been great without the windmill but its so huge that you couldn't get away from it and get both the gulls and the sunset/rise. I would have preferred it wasn't in the center of the coposition. The light and focus on the gulls is fantastic. Good stop action shot. However, they are the subject. The sky is just a backdrop.

This is very nice. The sky dominates the image like it should. Good color and composition. A touch of noise in the darker tones.

Sky High Fish Eye Lens

Im not crazy about this shot. The concept here is not bad. Its definately out of the box type of shot that I tend to attempt with varied results.
The water is murky, the fish is out of focus, the eye is not clear, the overlay of the city doesnt fit the shape of the eye. I would try this again as you have a good idea brewing, just a little more time and effor could produce something really good.

Big Sky

Looks like one of my grandmothers slides that I have been working on. The deep gradient in the sky is nice with the poofy clouds breaking it up. The sepia is a bit dark for me. but it has nice contrast. Definately fits the challenge theme and it is lovely.

sky is not the subject here. It makes good contrast for your subject and the lighting. Looks like there is a bit of fisheye distortion. It adds to the surreal feeling of the shot. Lighting is good but not natural looking a bit to harsh for me. subject is in good focus and composition is good for a skateboarding action shot.

Very nice sky! I might have added a touch of navy tone gradient to just the upper edge. The orange reds are spectacular. I'm glad you waited for the sun to go just below the horizon. We know its there and its not blinding us. Nice!

Wow! Knock my socks off! I am so fascinated by lightning and yet Im so scared of it. I love to look at the winding trails. Especially that large fat one that loops like a lariat. The colors here are amazing and the reflection on the water just astounding. Talk about the right place at the right time! This is definately my 10!

Room With A View

One monitor shows this incredibly noisey and the other monitor shows it incredibly dark. There is very little sky in the shot and its cut in half. But it is the only thing you can really see well in either pic. A difficult shot indeed. A neutral density filter might have helped but I think it would have caused problems with the window framing. On the dark version the light post grabs your eye. On the noisey version its not as dominating. I would have liked to see more of the snowy scene lit well or more of the sky and less ground outside the window.

Purple morning

Beautiful scene. I love the church with the red door and the fence that cuts all the way across very straight. The open gate is inviting the viewer to enter. The color cast on the image doesn't look quite right. The blue in the back looks odd. Also there are some white splotches in the sky around the steeple that distracts and doesn't feel like they belong. I really like the droopy big tree.

A very nice sky, Great color and textures. I like the sunburst and the silhouettes. I think a tad more ground could balance it out a bit better but the first shot I have seen where the subject (sky) actually dominates the scene as it should be! Great job!
