I love the background. I did not get to vote on this either. I will say that I don't feel that the detail in the wood takes away from the detail in the bird. They both look cool to me. I would have cropped the right up to the wood grain though.

I like the bridge. I personally would prefer a different background. I like the windows in the building on the left but the building on the right has no interest for me. Maybe a vantage point from closer to the bridge? imo the unnatural color of the water that is at the bottom of the picture is a little distracting too. The processing really did make the detail in the buildings pop. It gives them a lot of texture.

I love this detail, and I feel like he/she has this expression like "hey baby" That water looks so clear. A great moment, I wonder what the background would have been if you were standing on that other bank, the roots seem distracting to me, you could have taken it with the river running through the background too.

good job with the nice water flow, it is kind of neat how it looks like there are sparklers in the water. imo the whole picture is a little out of focus though.
